About Royal Air Maroc

About

Founded in 1957, Royal Air Maroc serves as Morocco’s national airline and is primarily government-owned. Operating from Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport, it provides an extensive domestic and regional network within Morocco and Africa, as well as international flights to Europe, the Middle East, and the Americas.

The airline maintains a diverse fleet of turboprop, narrowbody, and widebody aircraft, including Boeing 737-800, Boeing 767-300 Cargo, Boeing 737 MAX 8, Boeing 787-800 and 787-9 Dreamliners, Embraer 190, and ATR72-600 models. This variety ensures comprehensive service coverage across its routes.

Class of Travel

Royal Air Maroc’s Economy Class offers enhanced comfort with a seat pitch of 30 to 32 inches for short and medium-distance journeys and new leather seating. Passengers receive a complimentary meal on flights longer than two and a half hours or a hot snack on shorter journeys. The class also features a comprehensive in-flight entertainment system, including video-on-demand and access to international newspapers and magazines.

In Business Class, for long-haul flights, Royal Air Maroc provides high-quality Moroccan cuisine and fully adjustable seats that convert into bed positions with massage functions. The amenities include pillows and blankets on short and medium distance and long-haul flights. For long-haul journeys, passengers also receive toiletry bags, USB ports, and noise-reducing headphones. Entertainment options feature a wide selection of films, music, and games on individual 15.3-inch screens, ensuring a luxurious and relaxing travel experience.

Baggage Allowance

Royal Air Maroc provides a predetermined checked baggage allowance influenced by factors such as fare, route, passenger category, and class. Standard limits include a maximum weight of 32 kg, total dimensions not exceeding 203 cm, and allowance of one to three pieces based on flight number, class, and Safar Flyer status.

For carry-on baggage, items must fit under the seat or in the luggage compartment, with dimensions not exceeding 115 cm (55 cm length, 40 cm width, 20 cm height) and a maximum weight of 10 kg. Passengers are encouraged to keep valuables and essential medications in their cabin baggage to ensure safety and accessibility during the flight.

Safar Flyer Programme

Royal Air Maroc’s Safar Flyer is a loyalty program that rewards travelers with miles earned through flights with Royal Air Maroc, oneworld Alliance partners, and other affiliated partners. Members can accumulate miles from each flight or activity, enjoy retroactive mile credits, and redeem miles for tickets, upgrades, excess baggage, and more.

The program offers four tiers: Blue, Silver, Gold, and Platinum, each providing enhanced benefits. Silver includes additional baggage and check-in at business class counters, Gold adds VIP lounge access and priority boarding, while Platinum offers exclusive perks like free upgrades and dedicated support. Members maintain their status by earning required Status Miles or completing designated flights annually, ensuring a premium and rewarding travel experience.

In-flight Services

Royal Air Maroc offers exemplary in-flight dining with tailored menus for Economy and Business classes. Economy passengers enjoy healthy, balanced, and varied meals served on fine bone china . Business Class travelers experience a personalized culinary journey with Moroccan and international cuisines, a la carte service on long-haul flights, and wrapped towels scented with orange blossoms.

Entertainment options are comprehensive across both classes. Business Class features a wide selection of movies, series, music, and games accessible through a video-on-demand system in multiple languages, alongside real-time flight information via the geo-vision system. Economy passengers also benefit from the same VOD offerings and interactive flight updates, ensuring a pleasant and engaging travel experience.

Check-in

Royal Air Maroc offers online check-in starting 48 hours before flights, allowing passengers to select seats, print boarding passes, and save time by avoiding airport queues. Online check-in is available for most airports but closes two hours before departure. For departures from Morocco, passengers must finalize check-in at the airport, while certain international destinations do not support online check-in.

Offline check-in is accessible via RAM desks using e-tickets, Safar Flyer cards, and passport or identity cards. Priority check-in is available for Business Class and elite members. The airline provides special assistance for unaccompanied children, ensuring their safe journey. Passengers are advised to arrive early, adhering to recommended arrival times based on flight type and peak periods, to complete all formalities smoothly.

Onboard Support

Royal Air Maroc offers extensive onboard support, including special meal requests such as gluten-free and low cholesterol options made available during booking. The airline accommodates visually and hearing impaired passengers by providing timely information and priority boarding. Additionally, tailored seat assignments ensure comfort for those with reduced mobility or specific needs.

The airline also provides dedicated assistance for unaccompanied minors, ensuring their safety from check-in to arrival. Travel with pets is supported under strict conditions, and passengers with disabilities receive comprehensive care, including free wheelchairs and priority check-in. These services enhance the travel experience by addressing diverse passenger requirements with professionalism and care.
